SCHEDULE for SIWES 2016 PRESENTATIONS

(14 - 18 November 2016)

This is to inform all final year Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Electric and Electronic Eng. Students, to please check your faculty and department boards for your presentation date and time.

Submit your Log Book, Industrial Training Report (hardcopy - typed in computer - specified format described in log book), and Student Evaluation Form, Form 8 to your department before 11 NOVEMBER.

Click registration/submission menu and then Report submission.
Upload your soft copy of the report to the system.

IT/SIWES ORIENTATION LECTURE

This is to inform you that the IT/SIWES Orientation Lecture has been scheduled to hold as follows. For both Science (200&300 Levels) and Engineering (400 Level) students’ attendance is compulsory (even if they have a class). Departmental SIWES Coordinators should also attend.

DATE: 10^th January 2017

TIME: 10.00 am

Dear All,

One of the requirements for the award of bachelor of engineering or Science is that students must complete at least 24 weeks of industrial training.

Industrial Training (IT) refers to work experience that is relevant to professional development prior to graduation.

Science Faculty
Industrial Training is accumulated during long vacation at the end of the second and third year for Science Students.

12 weeks during the long vacation after second semester of 200 levels (Course Code: ITP 299, 3 CREDIT)
12 weeks during the long vacation after second semester of 300 levels (Course Code: ITP 399, 3 CREDIT)

Engineering Faculty
For Engineering Faculty students 24 weeks as SIWES during the 2nd semester of 400L and long vacation (COURSE CODE GET 499, 4 CREDIT)

STEPS IN SIWES/IT

STEP 1: Students get reference letter (signed and stamped by SIWES coordinator) from Department Secretary to seek for place of attachment. (It is ready to collect)
go to http://siwes.nileuniversity.edu.ng/forms-documents/ and download “Industrial Training 01b-PLACEMENT APPROVAL FORM-to return form”

STEP 2: Students seek and obtained place of attachment.

STEP 3: Online registrations: Go to http://siwes.nileuniversity.edu.ng/master-list-form

Fill & submit Master List form before 1st December, 2017

STEP 4 Students submits Placement Offer Letter to HOD for signature & stamp before submit to SIWES Office.

Deadline: 28-FEB-2018; 16:00 pm for ENG STUDENTS
30-MAR-2018; 16:00 pm for SCIENCE STUDENTS

STEP 5: Online registrations: Go to http://siwes.nileuniversity.edu.ng/placement-form

Fill & submit Placement form after confirming your place of attachment

Deadline: 28-FEB-2018; 16:00 pm for ENG STUDENTS
30-MAR-2018; 16:00 pm for SCIENCE STUDENTS
